Octopus and Celery Saladタコとセロリのサラダ

Perhaps, not many people are fussed on celery. As for me, it might sound quite strange but it depends on the way it’s cut. I can’t stand big chunks but I love thinly sliced celery. I wonder if other people have such preferences. Well, I can’t do big chunks of carrot either. Isn’t that strange?

➡ Ingredients (for four people)

  • 1-2 boiled octopus tentacles
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of ground pepper
  • One tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons of virgin olive oil

➡ Recipe

  1. Put the celery leaves aside. Get rid of the fibrous strings off the back of the celery stalk and slice it up (1 mm thin slices, just the way I like it).
  2. Slice up the boiled octopus in the same way.
  3. Put some salt, some ground pepper, lemon juice and olive oil in a bowl and mix them well. Add the sliced celery and the octopus to the bowl and mix them up again.
  4. Transfer the salad to a fancy salad bowl and arrange it with celery leaves. Couldn’t be better!

💡 Tips

  1. As boiled octopus can contain quite a bit of salt, adjust the amount of salt that you put in.

  • The octopus that you need for this recipe costs about 500 yen. It’s a relatively cheap ingredient.
  • In many countries, people don’t eat octopus. When it’s fresh, sashimi octopus is great.

➡  材料 (約4人分)

  • 茹でたタコの足 1~2本
  • セロリ  2本
  • 塩  少々
  • 粒こしょう  少々
  • レモン汁  大さじ1
  • バージンオリーブオイル  大さじ3

➡ 作り方

  1. セロリは葉の部分を別に取っておく。セロリの筋を取って1ミリ程度に薄切りにする。
  2. 茹でタコを同じく1ミリ程度に薄切りにする。
  3. ボールに塩・粒こしょう・レモン汁・オリーブオイルを入れてよく混ぜ合わせ、薄切りにしたセロリとタコを加え混ぜる。
  4. お皿に盛り、セロリの葉を上に盛る。

  1. 茹でタコの塩分があるので、塩の量は味を見ながら調整して下さい。
